PHE plans to drill 8 development wells in W. Madura block

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) plans to drill eight development wells in the West Madura Offshore block, East Java until the end of this year, the company?s spokesman said.

Ali Mundakir told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday that PHE currently is waiting for two rigs to arrive at the field next month and in October respectively.

Ali is confident that oil production from the block can be increased to 20,000 barrels per day (BPD) by the end of this year from 13,000-14,000 BPD currently.

He also said that PHE?s ONWJ block now produces around 33,000-35,000 BPD while Jambi Merang block, which is operated by JOB PHE-Talisman Jambi Merang, produces 88-100 MMSCFD of gas.

PHE expects to ramp up Jambi Merang's gas output to 120 MMSCFD next month, he said. ?The sooner, the better,? he said. (godang)
