PHE plans to drill more well in Randu Gunting despite failure

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) plans to drill another exploration well in Randu Gunting block, onshore Central Java despite failure to make discovery in the previous three wells.

PHE SpokespersonDidik Budi Hartono told Petromindo.Com that the company is currently re-evaluating the block?s prospectivity with a view to drill one well in 2015.

PHE drilled the third well called Kenangarejo-1 late last year and failed to make commercial discovery.

PHE is the block?s operator with 40% interest, with the remaining balance equally held by Malaysian firm Petronas and PetroVietnam.
