PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that a production platform for the PHE-24 field development project in the West Madura Offshore (WMO) block, offshore East Java, is set to sail way within the next two-three years.

This was said by PT PHE WMO General Manager Sri Budiyani to Petromindo.com on Tuesday. Sri said that the offshore platform will sail for six days from Cilegon, West Java, to be installed 50 sea miles from the Madura Island, East Java.

Sri said that after the sail-away of the PHE-24 platform, it will be followed with the sail-away of PHE-12 platform at the end of September, and the CPP-2 deck mid-October, in the hope that the entire facilities for the production of the PHE-12 and PHE-24 integrated field project to be installed offshore by November of this year.

Sri added that the company has also started construction of a 19.5-km underwater pipeline to distribute oil and gas output from the PHE-12 and PHE-24 integrated field project.

The entire engineering, construction, production, and installation (EPCI-1) work for the PHE-12 and PHE-24 field integrated field project is targeted to be completed in February of 2017, and starts oil production at a rate of 1,000 bpd, which will reach peak at 2,900 bopd in May 2017. Gas production is expected start in June 2017 at a rate of 10 mmscfd, and reach peak at 14,1 mmscfd in July 2017 in line with the target set by upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.

PHE WMO will start the EPCI-2 project comprising of production platforms for PHE-48 and PHE-7 fields in early 2018.

The projects are expected to help cut down the natural production declining rate at WMO block from 50-60 percent to around 10 percent.
