PHE ready to start CBM exploration in S. Sumatra

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Metana Suban I & II announced on Monday it would soon realize its planned coal bed methane (CBM) exploration work in Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, which holds the largest CBM potential in the country.

General Manager of PHE Metana Suban I&II, Alfi Rusin expressed his company?s readiness in carrying out the project during a recent meeting with Musi Banyuasin Regent Pahri Azhari, who said that his administration would support the company?s CBM project, as the CBM is seen as an economically important alternative energy source for the region. .

Alfi said that the company has set a target to drill four points in Babat Toman sub-district.
