PHE reports EOR success in Sudan

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) claimed a success in its enhanced oil recovery (EOR) project using the so-named Semar surfactant, formulated and developed by the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), in the Bamboo West field in Sudan, Africa.

The surfactant injection program has managed to reduce the water cut by 93 percent and increase oil production from 25 to 985 bopd, according to Corporate Secretary Wahidin on Thursday.

?In Sudan, the Semar surfactant injection program in 3 wells has pushed up production to 985 bopd,? Wahidin told petromindo.com, adding that the program commenced last October.

Bambu West is owned by PHE with partners Coral Petroleum Operation Company, Sudavet and Afrika Energy.
