PHE seeks extension of ONWJ contract

PT Pertamina Huly Energi (PHE), the operator of the Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) oil and gas block, has made an official request to the government to extend its current contract over the block which will expire in 2017.

?The ONWJ contract will expire in 2017. The (request) for the extension of the ONWJ contract has been submitted to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources,? PHE President Director Salis Aprilian told Petromindo.com Tuesday.

PHE has been in charge of managing the ONWJ block since July 2009 after acquiring it from BP Indonesia. The company has set a target for the block to produce 35,200 bpd of oil this year, up from 32,000 bpd last year. Meanwhile, gas production is projected to rise to 205 mmscfd from 186 mmscfd last year.
