PHE spudding Badik#2 well in Nunukan block

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero), said it has been spudding the Badik#2 well in Nunukan block, East Kalimantan since Sept. 20, 2013.

?The drilling of the appraisal well targets a total depth of up to 10.600 feet,? PHE?s Corporate Secretary, Wahidin Nurluzia said on Wednesday.

He said the cementing of 9.5/8?casing at the well has been completed.

?We are making further preparation for the drilling of stretch formation 8.1/2? up to the program total depth of 10,600 feet,? Wahidin added.

PHE is the operator of Nunukan block after acquiring the 35 percent interest of US oil and gas firm Anadarko in February of 2013. Medco Energi owns 40 percent interest in the block, with the balance equally shared by Indian Firms Videocon Industries Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited.
