PHE spuds CBM well in South Sumatra

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Metana Sumatra 7 started drilling the ABK3-A001 Coal Bed Methane (CBM) well in Gunung Raja village, Gunung Kemala district, Muara Enim regency, South Sumatra at the end of September.
The drilling is expected to last until the end of October, PHE?s VP for Domestic Exploration said on Monday.
It is the third CBM well that the firm has been drilling in the region. The firm has completed the drilling of the first well, ABK3-D001, and the second well, ABK3-D001, an exploratory corehole in Petanang village, Lembak district, Muara Enim regency.
The drilling of both wells were completed faster than schedule and at lower costs than the initial budget, he said.
He is optimistic the firm?s commitment for the PSC will be fulfilled by the end of this year.
