PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), the operator of West Madura Offshore (WMO) block in East Java, is still waiting for approval from upstream authority SKK Migas on the integrated Plan of Development (PoD) for PHE 6/12, 7, 24, 29, 44, 48 fields.

PHE plans to produce first oil from one of the rigs in the fields, Bambang H. Kardono, General Manager of PHE WMO, said on Monday.

?On our long term plan, we shall monetize WMO block potentials by carrying out two 3D seismic surveys in the northern part of the block and in the southern part of the block bordering Pasuruan and Sidoarjo regencies,? he said.

At present, he said, WMO produces 25,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd), up from 7,000 bopd when the firm takes over the operatorship of the block from South Korea?s Kodeco Energy on May 7, 2011.
