The Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE)-Talisman JOB plans to drill 14 new wells at the Ogan Komering oil and gas field in South Sumatra next year in a bid to help halt the 20 percent natural decline in production, according to a senior official.

?This will include 9 development wells and 5 exploration wells,? said Zakaria Harun, General Manager of PHE-Talisman JOB (Ogan Komering) Ltd, to Petromindo.com Wednesday.

He explained that the aging Ogan Komering field had seen a 20 percent natural production decline. Production currently stands at 4,500 bopd of oil and 15-16 mmscfd of gas.

Zakaria said that the company has been taking measures to help reduce the production decline among others through drilling of new wells. ?The field has been in production for 24 years,? he said.
