PT Pertamina Hulu Energi West Madura Offshore (PHE WMO) will drill three wells at the West Madura Offshore in June, according to the 2012 business plan it has submitted to the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPMIGAS).

It would be a continuation to the drilling the company did last year. In 2011, PHE WMO, which is a subsidiary of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, only managed to drill three wells at the KE-38 field, which has 13 wells in total.

?The drilling at the WMO, in accordance with the work program and budget proposed by PHE, will start in June at up to 3 wells,? Rudi Rubiandini, Deputy of Operation at BPMIGAS, told Petromido.com.

Rudi added that PHE is in preparation for the rig tender. Previously, PHE has said that the three additional wells would ramp up WMO production to 20,000-23,000 bopd from currently 12,000-13,000 bopd.

Pertamina controls 80% stake in the block, with previous operator Kodeco of South Korea holding the remaining 20%.
