PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), an upstream subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that its subsidiary PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Siak plans to drill one development well and one exploration well in Siak block, Riau Province, respectively in September and October of this year.
PHE President Director Gunung Sardjono told Petromindo.com that the Lindai-31 development well will be spudded end of September, to be completed in two weeks.
Meanwhile, the Kumis-2 exploration well will be spudded in early October, to be completed in one month.
Gunung added that the drilling programs depend on the completion of ongoing land acquisition process.
The government in May of last year awarded the Siak PSC to PHE after the contract of PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia (CPI) in managing the block expired on Nov. 27, 2013.
PHE said last month that oil production rate at the Siak block during the first quarter of this year reached 1,753 bopd, higher than the initial target of 1,621 bopd, contributed by three fields including Lindai with output of 607 bopd, Manggala South at 136 bopd, and Batang 1,010 bopd.
