PHE to request contract extension for Jambi Merang

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) will file a request with the Government to extend the contract PSC on the Jambi Merang JOB block in Jambi.

The JOB block is 50 percent owned by PHE, 25 percent by Talisman and 25 percent by Pacific Oil & Gas. The PSC on the block expires 2019, according to the Indonesian Oil & Gas Book 2013, published by Petromindo.com. The block started producing condensate and gas in 2011.

Pertamina?s Upstream Director Afdhal Bahaudin noted that thus far Pertamina had no intention to raise its stake in the block, but its team is doing a technical and commercial assessment to see if raising the stake is good for the company.
