PHE to spud Cempaka Emas-1 well at end November

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), an upstream subsidiary of state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) will spud Cempaka Emas-1 exploration well in Randu Gunting PSC onshore Central Java at end November.

Salis S. Aprilian, President Director of PHE, said the total depth for the well is targeted at 2,700 feet and the duration of work would be about between 1.5 to 2 months. Rig has been stationed on location.

After drilling the well, the company will further conduct 3D seismic next year and followed by drilling of an appraisal well in mid 2012.

PHE drills the well in partnership with Malaysia?s Petronas and Petrovietnam Investment and Development Company (PIDC). (bernard)
