PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a subsidiary of state owned oil and gas PT Pertamina (Persero) plans, to spud an exploration well called West Badik#1 at the Nunukan Block in East Kalimantan in the middle of May 2014, according to an official of PHE.
PHE Corporate Secretary, Wahidin Nurluzia said to Petromindo.com on Wednesday that if last year?s drilling of three wells (Badik#1, Badik#2, and Badik#3) prove to be successful, a third well (West Badik#1) is scheduled to be drilled in mid-May to determine the oil and gas reserves estimate.
?Currently we are still conducting the test and verification of indication of gas finding in the (three) wells,? he said.
Once the reserves estimate has been determined, PHE will propose the plan of development on the Nunukan Block to the upstream authority SKK Migas at the end of 2014.
PHE is the operator of the Nunukan block after acquiring the 35 percent interest of US oil and gas firm Anadarko in February of 2013. Medco Energi owns 40 percent interest in the block, with the balance equally shared by Indian Firms Videocon Industries Limited and Bharat PetroResources Limited.
