PHE WMO seeks to move shipping route

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE), a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, has filed a request with the Directorate General of Sea Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation to move the Surabaya West Shipping Route (or APBS) to allow the company builds new offshore platforms at the West Madura Offshore (WMO) block, East Java, in September of this year.

This was revealed by PHE President Director Gunung Sardjono to Petromindo.com on Monday. ?This is to facilitate our planned PHE 7 platforms,? he said.

Head of the Class I Navigation District Office in Surabaya, Supardi confirmed the request made by PHE WMO, a PHE subsidiary, to facilitate oil and gas exploration activities. ?To serve national interest, the old APBS must be moved,? he said, adding that the new APBS has been put into concept.

He said that a new Minister of Transportation Regulation is required to change the old APBS, which is based on Ministerial Regulation No KP 455/2016.
