Upstream company PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) through its unit PT PHE WMO is scheduled to lift a tilting platform at the West Madura Offshore (WMO) block, offshore East Java, in late October of this year.
?The troubled platform of PHE-12 is planned to be strengthened after we have evaluated the carrying capacity of the soil. For its safety, we will lift the platform first to land.? President/GM of PHE WMO Kuncoro Kukuh said to Petromindo.com on Wednesday.
He said that the contractor appointed for the repair work of the platform is a local company PT Meindo Elang Indah. The lifting process of the troubled platform will take place on October 30, 2017.
"The time for repair is quite long, approximately 8-12 months, given that after getting the land carrying capacity evaluation, it is necessary to prepare the contract and the material of its long lead,? Kuncoro said.
PHE President Director Gunung Sardjono acknowledged earlier that the platform trouble could delay potential oil production of 1,500-2,000 bpd. ?Starting August, three wells were supposed to have reached full production capacity,? he said early in August.
PHE WMO has an 80 percent interest in the block. According to company website, PHE WMO operates 10 platforms on 98 wells.
