Philippines? National Power Corporation (Napocor) has requested Indonesia to supply it with emergency coal as the company?s power plants are facing serious coal supply shortage of around 650,000 tons for the April-September period of this year, an Indonesian official told Petromindo.com Thursday.
?They have asked us to fill in the coal supply deficit,? Mahyudin Lubis, mineral resources and coal exploitation director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said in Jakarta.
Mahyudin did not say whether Indonesia would fulfill Napocor?s request. But another official said the government would soon summon some coal producers which have spare capacity to take the opportunity. (godang)
