Pilona?s oil pipeline in S. Sumatra leaks

Crude oil has leaked out of a pipeline owned by Pilona Petro Tanjung Lontar Ltd. in South Sumatra, local daily Sriwijaya Post reported on Tuesday.

Kepur villagers in South Sumatra? Muara Enim Regency found the oil leakage at 11 AM on Monday. It was not immediately clear about the volumes of oil leaking out of the 30-centimeter pipeline which was located in Kepur which is part of Ujanmas District.

Muara Enim regent Kalamuddin, who immediately came to pipeline site, said he would ask Pilona to repair the pipeline as soon as possible.

The leaking pipeline is located near the Muara Enim-Palembang road.

Meanwhile, Pilona?s senior executive Rohim said they would soon repair the pipeline, but added that his company would not suspend its oil drilling activities in the area.

Pilona has 100 percent working interest in Tanjung Lontar technical assistance contract (TAC) (*)
