State owned fertilizer PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) is in excess of gas supply as one of its two production units is still unable to operate due to a technical problem, Kontan daily reported Friday.

Agus Sapto Rahardjo, head of LPG and LNG division at oil and gas upstream regulator BPMIGAS, said in Jakarta on Thursday that the agency had prepared about 12 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for the fertilizer firm, but it could only take six cargoes because one of its two production units was still unable to operate.

?Now we are seeking for buyers for the six cargoes of LNG which can not be used by PT PIM,? he said.

Dadang Heru Kordi, the president director of PT Pupuk Pusri, which oversees PT PIM operation, acknowledged that the Aceh-based fertilizer company was still repairing one of its two production units which had been suspended due to technical problems.

?It means that PT PIM will only need six cargoes of gas this year,? he added. (*)
