PIM needs 11 cargoes of gas in 2010

Nangroe Aceh Darussalam-based fertilizer firm PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) will need 11 cargoes or 110 mmcfd of gas next year to meet urea production target of 1 million tons, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Saturday.
The firm has two urea fertilizer plants in Lhok Seumawe.
Company President Director Mashudianto said that the firm had sent a letter to oil and gas upstream regulator BP Migas two days ago, requesting a meeting to discuss about the gas supplies. The gas may be sourced from the Tangguh LNG plant in Papua operated by BP Plc or the gas fields in Aceh operated by ExxonMobil.
According to him, PIM is obliged to support the government's priority program of providing subsidized urea next year. ?Out of the one million urea production target next year, 500,000 tons will be used as subsidized fertilizer supply,? he said. (*)
