Aceh-based fertilizer company PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) plans to build a petrochemical complex including a 300,000-ton per year capacity of ammonium nitrate plant.
But PIM President Director Mashudianto said that the plan would depend on whether the company could secure the gas requirement.
The company is hoping that the plan to convert the existing Arun LNG facility in Aceh into an LNG receiving terminal can proceed and be completed in 2013, so that gas supply for PIM and other industries in Aceh can be materialized.
Mashudianto said that once the gas supply is secured, the company would invite investors to help finance the construction of the petrochemical complex. (*)
