PIM receives gas supply from Tangguh

Upstream authority SKK Migas has managed to allocate the gas supply from Tangguh through a mechanism of swap between the LNG plant in Arun, Aceh and Tangguh LNG plant in Papua.
A letter of agreement for the gas swap was signed by SKK Migas, PT. Pertamina, ExxonMobil Indonesia, PIM, and BP Berau Ltd on Monday 25th February 2013.
With the swap mechanism, the LNG from Arun will be sent to PIM while the gas supposed to be sent by Arun to Kogas in South Korea will be covered by the LNG from Tangguh. It is conducted because PIM has no storage terminal of LNG.
SKK Migas Commercial Control Deputy Widhyawan Prawiraatmadja said that with the swap agreement, it is the first time that gas from Tangguh is allocated for domestic consumption. This year PIM will get six cargoes from Tangguh.
?The sale value of the first shipment is about US$ 24 million,? said Widhyawan, who added that the gas supply allocated from Tangguh to PIM is the gas portion reoriented from Sempra.
During this year there will be 20 cargoes originally meant for Sempra to be redirected for domestic consumption.
