Pinang to help Tamtama in coal export

Central Kalimantan coal miner PT Tamtama Perkasa, a coal unit of the Barito Group, has reached an agreement with PT Pinang Export Indonesia for cooperation in the marketing of the former?s coal output, according to a statement in Bisnis Indonesia on Tuesday.
The statement said that the marketing cooperation agreement comes as Tamtama prepares to resume production activity.
Tamtama produced coal with high calorific value of 6,500-6,700 kcal/kg GAR with low sulfur of around 0.5 percent (ADB). The typical coal is demanded by power plant firms in Japan, the statement added but did not provide further details.
Tamtama, which operates coal mine in Muara Teweh, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan, started production at the end of 2012.
