Dieng geothermal power plant in Central Java was forced to temporarily cease operation after a supply pipe that transports steam to the plant’s main pipe exploded on Saturday.

Pertamina spokesperson Toharso told Petromindo.Com on Sunday that the explosion of the 24-inch pipe left 17 local residents, whose houses were above the exploded pipe, injured.

Meanwhile, PLN Director Ali Herman Ibrahim told Petromindo.Com that the plant would get back online within the next few days.

The 60-MW power plant is operated by PT.Geo Dipa Energi, a joint venture between state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina and state electricity firm PT PLN.
