Pipit Mutiara to increase export to Japan

Coal miner, PT Pipit Mutiara Jaya (PMJ) is expected to increase export to Japan from its new thermal coal mine in Sebakis, East Kalimantan as general industry like paper-manufacturing company in Japan decided for trial import of the coal from Indonesia, China-based website Baiinfo.com reported.
Sebakis coal mine which just started production in 2011 would produce about 1 million tons per year with CV 6,500kcal/kg, 4.5 percent ash and 0.9 percent Sulfur.It is not clear the total of expected export to Japan.
PMJ currently operates Sebakis and Bebatu coal mine. Bebatu coal has been producing since 2006, and the annual production quantity is about 2 million tons with CV of 5,100kcal/kg and content of ash of 6 percent and Sulphur of 0.4 percent.
Both Sebakis and Bebatu coals are loaded by barge and transshipped to a coal bulk carrier at the coal terminal at Tarakan. (*)
