PJB develops CNG plant in Gresik

Power company PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) is currently developing a CNG plant in Gresik, East Java, with a capacity of 20 mmscfd worth Rp 1.3 trillion, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Saturday.

The paper quoted Sugiyanto (one name), a general manager at PJB, as saying that the CNG plant was developed to compress the unutilized gas at its power plant in Gresik and ship them to the Bawean (5MW) and Lombok (3MW) gas-fired power plants.

The CNG plant is expected to be completed in May 2015. The PJB Gresik power plant, which operates 19 generation units, with a combined capacity of 2,239 MW, consumes 108.73 mbtu of gas per year. (*)
