PJB directly appoints coal supplier for Paiton as tenders failed

PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a unit state of electricity firm PLN said on Tuesday it is in talks with coal trader PT.Terminal Batubara Indah (TBI) to supply coal for its 800-MW Paiton power plant in East Java.
PJB Procurement Officer Bambang Iswanto told Petromindo.Com that TBI was directly appointed as previous tenders held by the company failed to produce winner.
Bambang said TBI would supply 40,000 tonnes per month for one year with CV of 5,000 Kcal/kg (AR). ?we?re currently negotiating the price, which, hopefully, could be concluded within one or two weeks to enable first shipment of two barges this month,? he said, adding that TBI asked for US$80 per tonne (FOB).(denny)
