PJB opens coal supply PQ for Paiton power plant

PT. Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a subsidiary of state electricity firm PLN is opening pre-qualification tender to supply coal for its 800-MW Paiton power plant in Probolinggo, East Java for August 2006 onward delivery, the company announcement says.

According to the announcement, the company is looking for legal suppliers, which have production capacity of at least 60,000 tones per month, having recoverable coal reserves of at least 3.6 million tones and having been producing coal for at least one year.

The company also required interested suppliers to use barge with minimum loading of 5,000 tones.

PJB said coal requirement it set for the supply should be between 5,100-5,300 Kcal/kg with total moisture of 24 percent, HGI 51, sulphur content 0.3 percent AR, ash content 4%AR.

The company did not say the volume of coal it wished to buy. Pre-qualification will be closed on March 20, 2006.(alex)
