PJB, PLN Aceh sign MoU on renewables

PT Pembangkitan Jawa-Bali (PJB), a subsidiary of state-owned electricity firm PT PLN, signed on Monday a MoU with the Aceh regional office of PLN for cooperation in the renewables sector, kompas.com
The news portal said that the MoU includes sharing of knowledge and experience in the renewables sector. The MoU will then be extended for cooperation by the two companies in the future to develop solar power plants in Aceh including maintenance and operation.
The cooperation between PJB and PLN Aceh unit is the first step toward synergies among PLN units in development of renewables-based power plants as well as in the efforts to reduce electricity production cost.
PJB currently operates a number of renewables-based power plants with combined capacity of 1,300 MW. (*)
