PJB teams up with Dutch firms to develop green power plants

PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a subsidiary of public utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), signed on Wednesday Memorandums of Understanding with two Dutch firms to develop power plants using renewable energy.

The first MoU was signed with De Raaij en Datema B. V (INRADA) together with PT Duta Cipta Pakarperkasa (DCP) to build a seaweed biogas power plant and the second one was signed with Tidal Bridge B. V (TBB) and DCP to build a tidal bridge power plant, PJB said in a statement on Thursday, without providing details on the projects.

PJB?s President Director Mulyo Adji AG said PJB is a market leader in the development of power plants using renewable energy in Indonesia. The firm is keen to cooperate with international firms with proven credibility in developing such power plants.

Charles Laarhuis, Managing Director INRADA and Eric Van Den Eijn Den, President Director of TBB, said they were happy to cooperate with PJB and hope the projects can be soon realized. They noted that using their technologies, the power plants that will be developed can compete with power plants of other types in terms of investment and power price.
