PJB to pick three winners in Paiton coal supply tender

PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB), a subsidiary of state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) said that PJB has picked three lowest bidders as a winner out of 7 bidders to supply around 80,000 tonnes per month of coal tender for its 800 MW Paiton power plant in East Java.

The three lowest bidders are consortium of Insani Baraperkasa-PT Oktasan, consortium of PT Prima Multi Mineral (PMM)-Baramarta and PT Kadya Caraka Mulya (KCM), a coal unit of PT Pamapersada Nusantara (Pama), the industrial source told Petromindo.Com

PMM is also unit of Pama.

PJB is expecting to officially announce the winners within this week, the source said.

Originally, PJB tenders 110,000 tonnes per month of coal for its Paiton power plant but the three lowest bidders are only able to supply around 80,000 tonnes per month, the source said.

The winners will supply coal to Paiton under 3-year contract, starting next year. The coal will be of 4,800 kcal/kg (AR) calorific value.

PT Adaro Indonesia is currently the main coal supplier to the power plant. (denny)
