PJB to talk with Gulf over gas supply

Power firm PT PJB, a unit of the state-owned electricity company, will talk with oil and gas firm Gulf Resources Indonesia over gas supply for its Muara Karang power plant, according to company marketing and development director Cahyo Sasmojo.
He told Neraca daily and Petromindo.com that although the gas supply, expected to start in 2004, from South Sumatra would be using the pipeline facility of the state-owned gas distribution company PGN, PJB would only make the negotiation with Gulf.
?The toll fee issue will be the responsibility of Pertamina and Gulf. The gas purchase by PJB will already include the toll fee,? he said.
He said that price negotiation with Gulf would start once PJB completed the feasibility study for the repowering of the 700 MW Muara Karang gas-fired power plant.
He expected Gulf to be able to provide PJB with a special pricing for the gas.(Amoros)
