PKN maintains coal briquetting plant output at 60,000 tpa

Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) stated that it will maintain production of its coal briquetting plant in Sekayan, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province, at the level 60,000 tons per anum (tpa).

President Director of PKN,Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com recently that the firm is currently concentrating on its new coal upgrading plant facility, which began operation early this month.

?So for coal briquetting we will maintain (production) at the level of 5,000 tons per month,? he said.

PKN operates a coal mine in Sekayan, with estimated reserves of 90 million tons. A larger part of the coal output will to the coal upgrading facility, while the remainder will be allocated for coal briquetting and coal-fired power plant supporting the mineral facility.
