Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) only produced 990,000 tons of coal from its concession in Kelubir and Sekayan, North Kalimantan in the first quarter of the year.

Jeffrey Mulyono, President Director of PKN, told Petromindo.com on Thursday that the company?s output was 27% lower than the target of 1,250,000 tons due to the rainy season.

Jeffrey, however, said the company still sticks to its target to produce about 5 million ton this year.

Most of the coal production was shipped to India. ?Around 45,000 tons were delivered to Gorontalo power plant,? he said.
