PKN's coal up grading facility will resume operation in Feb 2017

Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) stated that it will resume operation of its coal upgrading facility in Sekayan, North Kalimantan, in February 2017.

President Director, Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com Thursday that the coal upgrading facility was suspended in September, after started operation early this year, due to technical problem. Jeffrey, however, didn't elaborate what the problem was.

Jeffrey revealed that in 2017 the company is targeting around 600,000 tons of coal output from the facility with calorific value of 5,000 kcal/kg with required input of 1.2 million tons of 3,200 kcal/kg of low rank coal.

PKN teams up with PT ZJG Resources Technology in building the coal upgrading plant, which also involved Chinese investor to develop the coal upgrading technology.
