PKN?s first-half coal output below target

Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) stated that coal production from its concession in Sekayan, Bulungan regency, North Kalimantan in the first semester of 2016 reached almost 600,000 tons, compared to the full-year target of 2 million tons.
President Director Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com on Tuesday that the coal output in the January-June period was below the half-year target of 1 million tons.
?The coal production up to June 2016 was around 594,790 tons,? Jeffrey said, but did not say the reason for the slow output performance. Some miners have slowed down production amid the lingering weak coal price.
He added that of the total production, as much as 562,644 tons have been sold during the period.
