Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) stated that its coal production in the first quarter period of 2016 was only 319,000 tons compared to full-year target of two million tons.
President Director Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com that the realization of the coal production in the first quarter was lower than the quarterly target of 500,000 tons because the company?s coal ugrading facility has yet to start operation.
?If the coal upgrading facility has been operated, we will maximize our coal production,? Jeffrey said.
He revealed that from the first quarter production of 319,000 tons, around 54,000 tons were absorbed by Gorontalo power plant. ?Around 265,000 tons were exported to India,?he said.
PKN operates coal mines in North Kalimantan.
