Indonesia coal producer PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) said that it has stopped exporting coal to China since February due to uncertain market condition in the country.
Jeffrey Mulyono, president director of PKN told Petromindo.com that coal from Sekayan Block and Kelubir Block in Bulungan East Kalimantan was now shifted to India.
"We have stopped our export to China due to the lack of demand from the country. I think China is one of those countries where demand could suddenly arise or decrease (in a short period)," Jeffrey said.
The company has also revised its coal production from 3 million ton to 2.1 million ton this year on the weakening of coal prices especially in the last three months. "The price is not so good; why should we exploit our resources?," he added.
