Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara is expecting to carry out a geological mapping on its Mangkupadi concession in East Kalimantan later this year.

General and Development Director Tria Suprajeni told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company is still looking forward to obtaining forestry license for the geological mapping.

"If we can conduct the geological mapping this year, then we shall carry out exploration next year," Tria said adding that the Mangkupadi concession is targeted to start coal production by 2015 with the production target of 250,000 tons for the first year and up to 2 million ton in 2016.

The Mangkupadi concession has the total of 4,536 hectares.
