PKN to increase coal output to 6 million tons this year

Coal mining company PT Pesona Khatulistiwa Nusantara (PKN) will increase its coal production from 4.7 million tons in 2014 to 6 million tons in 2015 from its coal mine in Kelubir and Sekayan areas in East Kalimantan.
President Director Jeffrey Mulyono told Petromindo.com the company will increase its output to feed the coal upgrading plant now now under construction by a Chinese company in Sekayan, which is expected to come into operation this year.
The company will supply the coal upgrading plant as much as 1.2 million tons per year.
Meanwhile, an industry source said PKN will 3.7 million tons of its coal production this year to India, adding the amount is similar to that of last year. Most of the buyers of this year are PKN?s existing clients.
