State-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina will suspend operations of its 20,000 barrel-a-day gasoline unit at Plaju refinery in South Sumatra at the end of the year for scheduled maintenance.
Pertamina will stop operating the fluid catalytic cracker unit, which produces gasoline, for 23 days, Suroso Atmomartoyo, processing director at the company, said in Jakarta Friday.
Pertamina has delayed shutting down the 130,000 barrel-a-day Plaju refineries since June to help ease Indonesia?s import bill as oil prices rise.
Pertamina may suspend operations at the Balikpapan refinery in February or March next year and the Dumai refinery in September next year, Atmomartoyo said. (godang)
