PLN allocates Rp3t for transmission in West Java

State-owned electricity firm PT PLN West Java regional official has allocated Rp 3 trillion to help accelerate the development of transmission lines in the province in line with the completion of new power plants within the next few years.

Kontan quoted General Manager for West Java Distribution at PLN, Iwan Purwana as saying that the company is speeding up the development of power transmission lines in the region. He said that PLN has started construction of a 500 kV transmission line from Mandirancang to Cibatu, in Bekasi, West Java.

The paper said that the new transmission lines is to anticipate the operation of new power plants in 2019 and 2020 including the 650 MW PLTU Muara Tawar coal-fired power plant, 1,760 MW PLTGU Jawa 1 combined-cycle power plant, and 1,040 MW PLTA Upper Cisokan hydro power plant. (*)
