PLN said in a statement that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has decided the electricity tariff adjustment for December 2015 by taking into account three factors including the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar, oil price, and monthly inflation rate.
The company said in a statement that the tariff for household customers (R-2 category) subscribing power capacity of 3,500 VA-5,500 VA, and large household customers (R-3) with capacity of more than 6,600 VA has been lowered to Rp 1,509 per kWh for the month of December from Rp 1,533 per kWh in November.
The tariff for medium-scale businesses, large industries, government office, and special public facilities also saw slight decline, thanks to weaker inflation and the recent strengthening of the rupiah. PLN did not disclose the tariff for these categories.
Monthly tariff adjustment has also been applied to household customers with capacity of 1,300 VA and 2,200 VA starting December.
