PLN announces tender for coal supply to Ombilin

State owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) announced on Tuesday a tender for the supply of coal to the Ombilin coal fired power plant in South Sumatra.
Companies, either individually or in a consortium, may participate in the prequalification process of the tender, the firm said.
The companies are to register themselves and take prequalification tender documents from April 7 through 14 this year and to submit the documents from April 7 through April 21, the advertisement says.
According to Juniaman, a staff at the tender team, PLN needs a total of 2.94 million tons of coal over six years with a minimum calorific value of 6,000 Kcal/kg (GAR=Gross Air Receive).
Shipment is expected to start in July 2008. (Denny)
