PLN announces tender to build power plant in Batam

State owned electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negera (PLN) called on Saturday for bids to build a 120-MW combined cycle power plant (PLTGU) in Tanjung Uncang, Batam and operate it over a period of 15 years.

In advertisement published on Bisnis Indonesia, PLN said the tender opens for companies which have experience in engineering, procurement and construction (EPC)and are capable of operating and maintaining a combined cycle power plant.

The companies must also have financial capability to fund the project and operate the power plant.

They must also have secured gas supplies of at least 20 Bbtud for the power plant. This must be proved with a gas sales agreement (GSA) with proven gas supplier for a minimum period of 15 years from the commercial operation date. The gas-in is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2011.

Interested bidders may obtain pre-qualification tender documents at PLN's Batam office from Dec. 6 through Dec. 11, 2008. (Bodega)
