PLN applies EAM in transmission

State-owned electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has expanded the application of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) to its transmission network since July this year. Previously, it has applied the EAM in its power generation and distribution.

PLN Sumatra?s Java-Bali Operation Director Ngurah Adnyana has recently inaugurated in Pekanbaru, Riau, the implementation of EAM on its transmission network, which is abbreviated as TEAM (Transmission EAM). It has been managed by its transmission management unit, PLN Penyaluran dan Pusat Pengatur Beban (P3B) Sumatera, since the middle of July 2014.

The company said in its press release on Monday that with the TEAM implementation, information on assets governance which covers design plan, development/construction, operation, and maintenance can be well provided as expected.

The TEAM application will be later extended to PLN P3B Jawa Bali and PLN Wilayah Sulawesi Selatan, Tenggara, and Barat (SULSELRABAR) in October this year. Later in stages in the year 2015 PLN will apply it in all of its business units.

The implementation of TEAM, which requires discipline and thorough support of four strategic aspects, namely business process improvement, infrastructure reliability, asset data integrity, and change of human resources mindset, uses the modul plant maintenance (PM) from SAP.

?The system of assets governance will enable PLN to increase its assets performance and support PLN clean program ,? the company which has a total asseet of Rp 613 trillion stated in the press release.
