PLN appoints ABB, Areva to supply transformers

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has appointed four firms to supply six units of IBT 500 KV transformers, PLN?s president director said on Thursday.
The suppliers are Swedish firm ABB for one unit, French firm Areva for one unit and the other four units will come from two Chinese firms Xi An ( two unit) and Shen Yang (two unit) , Dahlan Iskan told reporters in Jakarta.
The price of one transformer is Rp 67 billion (1US$ = Rp 9,060), he said, adding that the transformers will arrive in Indonesia in September, and the installation is expected to be completed in October this year.
The six transformers will be installed in Gandul in Depok, West Java ; Bekasi in West Java; Kembangan in West Jakarta; Cibatu in Garut, West Java; Cilegon in Banten; and Paiton in East Java. (bernard)
