PLN appoints another coal trader to supply Labuan power plant

State electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has appointed another coal trader PT Indocoal United to supply 48,000 tons of coal to its 2x300 MW Labuan power plant in Banten
Shipment is expected to last from July 21 through August 30, this year, PLN?s primary director Nur Pamudji told Petromindo.com on Monday. ?The price is about the same with (those paid to) the earlier winners,? he said.
The firm won the contract in a recent spot tender for Lot-2 held by PLN to supply a total of 184,000 tons of coal to the power plant. The volume is divided into four lots.
Earlier, PT Sentosa Laju Abadi and PT Artha Daya Coalindo (ADC) won Lot-1 and Lot-3 respectively, each amounting to 48,000 tons. Both firms set their prices at around Rp 480,000 (US$=Rp 9,050) per ton.
Meanwhile, for Lot-4 with quantity of 40,000 tons, PLN will announce on Tuesday (today), he said. (bernard)
