State-owned electricity firm PT PLN has selected a contractor for the construction of the PK52BEM gas pipeline in East Kalimantan following completion of a recent tender.

This was said by Chairani Rachmatullah, Head of Primary Energy Division at PLN on Tuesday to Petromindo.com.

The 55-km, 16-inch, pipeline will be linked with PLN?s PLTGU Tanjung Batu combined-cycle power plant.

Chairani declined to disclose the name of the contractor as it has yet to put the required deposit. She expected the contract to be signed in August of this year, and the pipeline project targeted to start operation in August 2018.
